Yoga is a great complimentary workout and just a bit of a break from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. Yoga is simply a great way to de-stress, keep you mind quiet and work on the overall function of your body. Each yoga pose has specific physical and mental benefits. On a spiritual level the goal of Yoga is to balance body, mind and spirit. On a physical level the goal Yoga is to lengthen, stretch and strengthen muscles throughout the body.

Getting fit with Yoga

Yoga will improve your lung capacity through the different breathing techniques practiced throughout the class. Suppleness and elasticity or muscles are also aspects of fitness that will improve through regular Yoga practice.

The benefits of Yoga

On a physical level the benefits are many. The muscles of the body get worked out and stretched, and there are benefits to your internal systems. Many of the yoga poses massage and stimulate organs ensuring a optimum blood supply to various parts of the body, aiding in detoxification and providing nourishment. The functioning of other internal systems, such as your lymphatic, nervous and cardiovascular systems, can be improved by the practice of Yoga.

A usual class consists of

This class consists of a series of Yoga poses and breathing practices. Your instructor will choose a focus for the class, be it hamstrings, hip mobility, fluidity, power Yoga, core strength, relaxation, balance…and the list goes on! You will be guided through the poses with options given for more advanced students and each Yoga class finishes with Savasana or relaxation. You will leave Yoga feeling relaxed and have a sense of accomplishment ready to take on the rest of the day.

What you need to bring to your class

Come along in gym wear which is easy to move in and you feel comfortable wearing. Yoga mats, straps and blocks are provided.
