I am a Gardener for the Wellington City Council looking after amongst other things Waitangi Park and the Michael Fowler Centre. Hobbies include golf and mountain biking and hanging out with the family at the Nix. I started spin classes soon after joining the gym in mid 2011 and after a year or so of Saturdays with Carol she told me I should be up on stage leading others, plus I love being on a bike. I started teaching late August 2013.

I enjoy inspiring newcomers and pushing regulars to strive for their best in an energising, encouraging and fun environment.

After a major back injury in 1985 I pursued knowledge to improve my own mobility.

My previous experience in dance and competitive sport inspired my knowledge to broaden.

I am qualified in Exercise Science and Therapy for Weight Training Programming both land and water based, Group Fitness Classes, Massage, Equipment and Mat Pilates.

I have been teaching Stott Pilates since 2003. I was privileged to have Carla Hayes, Head Instructor from Stotts Head Pilates Studio in Canada, to inspire and train me through an intense course of Principals incorporating all forms of Equipment and Mat Pilates.

Through personal experience I believe Pilates has a place to help the seasoned athlete improve and prevent injury. To inspire those new to the health and fitness circle help with body mechanics awareness and to set up good exercise practices.

I am constantly growing my knowledge for improvement in the Health and Fitness Industry. I am highly motivated and have a passion to pass on an array of health improvements from people I have found to be an inspiration.

I look forward to meeting you in my classes.

I am a fully-qualified personal trainer and competitve body-builder and have been teaching group fitness programmes since I was 17 years old. I am still just as passionate about the fitness industry today as I was back then! I have been with Radical Fitness International for past 4 years, and during this time have become a Master Trainer in Power, X55, Oxigeno, Ki Max, Figth Do and UBound which means that I now train people to teach these programmes.

The main highlight for me would have to be becoming a National and International presenter in these programmes, and getting the opportunity to share the stage with Radical Instructors from around the world.

I am currently teaching Power and BoxCircuit at Exodus, so if you want to experience a great muscle-toning, calorie-burning workout then come along and share my passion with me!

I have always been passionate about music, fitness and having fun – so what better way to express this than with Group Fitness.  I’ve been teaching Group Fitness classes for over 10 years now, and my favourite classes to teach are anything to do with dance.  With a background in a number of trained dance styles, and having been a Master Trainer, national and international presenter for Radical Fitness in their dance programmes, this further enhances my abilities to give you a great class experience at Exodus.

I’d definitely recommend Zumba to anyone that is looking for a fun workout that is “exercise in disguise” – it’s a terrific way to get you towards your fitness and weight loss goals.

I look forward to meeting you at Zumba!

Area of Expertise

  • Yoga, Pilates

Qualifications

  • BSc Human Anatomy Physiology (pending)

I am yoga trained in Ashtanga, Iyenger, and Hatha as well as Pilates.  My educational grounding is in Applied Science (Human Anatomy and Physiology pathway) and background experience comes from a career in dance, gymnastics, circus and bodysculpting.

My yoga and Pilates classes are taught from a strong body mechanical standpoint. I am passionate about helping create correct posture and assisting with recovery from injuries.

Pilates is ideal for everyone, if you also battle with flexibility add a yoga class in to the mix.

“Your class is like going to a physio” (participant quote)

Beginners Yoga

The perfect place to start! This class has a strong focus on alignment and structural safety, great for creating the building blocks required for open yoga classes.

Intermediate/Advanced Yoga

Once your basic knowledge in yoga and its poses are established this class will develop further your strength, flexibility and body knowledge.

Pilates

This class will teach you about correct posture and spinal alignment. Expect stretching to create flexibility in your outer mobilising muscles and isolation techniques to provide strength for your inner stabilising muscles.

Hi I’m Sarrah! I have been teaching yoga in many different environments for the last four years, and have been loving my classes at Exodus since August 2013. My goal is that you leave my class with a smile on your face, feeling a little less stressed and with more freedom to move. Although I specialize in Women’s health I like a nice balance of men and women in my classes and am constantly curious about how unique we all are, which has taught me that there is never one pose that fits all and each pose must be tailored to your own individual needs. I am an open book and love to talk so please ask me any questions and let me know what your body and mind need today.

I look forward to meeting you!
