I attended my first group fitness class as an Exodus member back in 2010. I remember walking into the studio, the music was pumping, the atmosphere was energetic, and the exercises challenged me to the point that I walked out with a workout to remember. From then on, it was easy to choose classes to provide my exercise needs. My fitness has increased steadily over the years, and I owe it to the classes.

Today as an instructor, it’s my goal to help other’s on their journey to better health and well being. So if you’re looking for a new boost of motivation, fresh methods to train your body, and an environment that will bring out your best, try a class today!

I am a Gardener for the Wellington City Council looking after amongst other things Waitangi Park and the Michael Fowler Centre. Hobbies include golf and mountain biking and hanging out with the family at the Nix. I started spin classes soon after joining the gym in mid 2011 and after a year or so of Saturdays with Carol she told me I should be up on stage leading others, plus I love being on a bike. I started teaching late August 2013.

I enjoy inspiring newcomers and pushing regulars to strive for their best in an energising, encouraging and fun environment.

Testimonials

“Lucas sets achievable goals and helps you reach them! I’ve been a gym member for a few years but with Lucas’s help I’m the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been. Lucas also provides me with essential nutrition advice and in 12 weeks I’ve lost 7kg. If you want to achieve your fitness goals I’d highly recommend Lucas as a personal trainer!”  – Louise

“Since training consistently with Lucas 2x week for 6months I have lost 6% body fat and have seen great gains especially with my back/biceps. I hate cardio so we do lots of weights training which I love! I still have a long way to go but without training with Lucas, I wouldn’t have the same intensity in my training which he provides. He knows to call me out when I am slacking and I love it!” -Tiffany

“I have been doing Personal Training sessions at Exodus for 10 months now with Lucas. I started by doing only a 30 minute session per week and am now doing 2 sessions of 1 hour and 45 minutes per week, as I enjoy the sessions so much! They are always really enjoyable and I find having sessions rather than just working out by myself keeps me motivated. I am a lot fitter and stronger than I used to be. Lucas is very knowledgeable about how the muscles work as well and always explains which muscles that are being worked during each session, which I find really interesting.”   Samantha Mills

“When I first started training with Lucas I showed up out of shape and was in chronic back pain; not even able to sit a day at my desk without suffering. He worked with me, combining a balance of rehab and strength building workouts which over the course of the year completely eliminated my back pain. Since then I have seen really pleasing results in muscle growth and strength. Lucas provided me with the tools and motivation to learn how to train myself using correct techniques in a wide range of exercises. This past year I have put on more muscle and have felt better about myself than I have since I was a young lad. I can really say Lucas has been the biggest influence on my new found addiction to the gym.” –Sam Laver

In 2013 I finished my Diploma in Personal Training and jumped into Exodus as a keen Personal Trainer. After successfully running my own business for two years I thought it was time I did some travelling to get some experience around the world. I decided to do the big move to England to play cricket and continue to grow my Personal Training business.

After spending 9 amazing months playing cricket, travelling Europe and furthering my personal training skills I thought it was time to come back to New Zealand.

I am now back and my passion for Health and Fitness has not changed. I’m in a new role with new challenges and can’t wait to meet more people, share my experiences and knowledge with them and help them on their fitness journey.

Give me a call and let me know how I can help you!

  • Endurance sports
  • Exercise motivation

  • Training for events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Physical Education (Hons) majoring in Exercise and Sport Science
  • Comprehensive First Aid

Sport and Exercise has always been a part of my life and I’ve always been an advocate of following your passion. Growing up in Lower Hutt I was always involved in some sort of sport up until and including my time studying Physical Education at Otago University. Upon returning to Wellington I decided to challenge myself and move into individual endurance sports.

At present my résumé consists of:

  • 4x Marathons (Wellington 2011 & 2014, Sydney 2012 and Gold Coast 2015)
  • 7x Taupo Cycle Challenges (2010-present)
  • 2x Half-Ironman Triathlons (Taupo 2011 and New Plymouth 2013)

Cycling is now my main focus – there are lots of goals I want to achieve, lots of races I want to try, and some I want to win! But in and amongst all the training and races I want to get out and see NZ and the world. In early I spent two weeks cycling up the West Coast of the South Island – luckily the weather was mostly good and we really enjoyed ourselves. I now have plans to cycle around the central North Island and the Coromandel region sometime in 2017 and also take a trip over to Japan to take in some sights while riding our way around for a few weeks.

If anyone reading this has any suggestions for cycle tours please come find me and let me know! But I’m just as happy to talk about non-cycling related topics too. If I’m not too busy feel free to come and have a chat about your goals or your training plans, be careful though, I might take you through a quick workout too!

Hi I’m Sarrah! I have been teaching yoga in many different environments for the last four years, and have been loving my classes at Exodus since August 2013. My goal is that you leave my class with a smile on your face, feeling a little less stressed and with more freedom to move. Although I specialize in Women’s health I like a nice balance of men and women in my classes and am constantly curious about how unique we all are, which has taught me that there is never one pose that fits all and each pose must be tailored to your own individual needs. I am an open book and love to talk so please ask me any questions and let me know what your body and mind need today.

I look forward to meeting you!
