In 2013 I finished my Diploma in Personal Training and jumped into Exodus as a keen Personal Trainer. After successfully running my own business for two years I thought it was time I did some travelling to get some experience around the world. I decided to do the big move to England to play cricket and continue to grow my Personal Training business.
After spending 9 amazing months playing cricket, travelling Europe and furthering my personal training skills I thought it was time to come back to New Zealand.
I am now back and my passion for Health and Fitness has not changed. I’m in a new role with new challenges and can’t wait to meet more people, share my experiences and knowledge with them and help them on their fitness journey.
Give me a call and let me know how I can help you!

Sport and Exercise has always been a part of my life and I’ve always been an advocate of following your passion. Growing up in Lower Hutt I was always involved in some sort of sport up until and including my time studying Physical Education at Otago University. Upon returning to Wellington I decided to challenge myself and move into individual endurance sports.
At present my résumé consists of:
4x Marathons (Wellington 2011 & 2014, Sydney 2012 and Gold Coast 2015)
7x Taupo Cycle Challenges (2010-present)
2x Half-Ironman Triathlons (Taupo 2011 and New Plymouth 2013)
Cycling is now my main focus – there are lots of goals I want to achieve, lots of races I want to try, and some I want to win! But in and amongst all the training and races I want to get out and see NZ and the world. In early I spent two weeks cycling up the West Coast of the South Island – luckily the weather was mostly good and we really enjoyed ourselves. I now have plans to cycle around the central North Island and the Coromandel region sometime in 2017 and also take a trip over to Japan to take in some sights while riding our way around for a few weeks.
If anyone reading this has any suggestions for cycle tours please come find me and let me know! But I’m just as happy to talk about non-cycling related topics too. If I’m not too busy feel free to come and have a chat about your goals or your training plans, be careful though, I might take you through a quick workout too!
I started at Exodus in 2010 as a member, always keen to be part of the Group Fitness Industry the encouragement came from my Husband, Martin. I eventually became a permanent fixture of the Group Fitness Team in 2011. I teach Top Ride because I love how challenging, fun and effective it is and enjoy encouraging newcomers to my class. I’ve completed Taupo twice and mountain biked throughout the country. I’ve also always participated in cycle classes to maintain my fitness. So come ride with me on a Tuesdays at 6.30am and Saturdays at 10.15am.

Hi I’m Sarrah! I have been teaching yoga in many different environments for the last four years, and have been loving my classes at Exodus since August 2013. My goal is that you leave my class with a smile on your face, feeling a little less stressed and with more freedom to move. Although I specialize in Women’s health I like a nice balance of men and women in my classes and am constantly curious about how unique we all are, which has taught me that there is never one pose that fits all and each pose must be tailored to your own individual needs. I am an open book and love to talk so please ask me any questions and let me know what your body and mind need today.
I am yoga trained in Ashtanga, Iyenger, and Hatha as well as Pilates. My educational grounding is in Applied Science (Human Anatomy and Physiology pathway) and background experience comes from a career in dance, gymnastics, circus and bodysculpting.
My yoga and Pilates classes are taught from a strong body mechanical standpoint. I am passionate about helping create correct posture and assisting with recovery from injuries.
Pilates is ideal for everyone, if you also battle with flexibility add a yoga class in to the mix.
“Your class is like going to a physio” (participant quote)
Beginners Yoga
The perfect place to start! This class has a strong focus on alignment and structural safety, great for creating the building blocks required for open yoga classes.
Intermediate/Advanced Yoga
Once your basic knowledge in yoga and its poses are established this class will develop further your strength, flexibility and body knowledge.
Pilates
This class will teach you about correct posture and spinal alignment. Expect stretching to create flexibility in your outer mobilising muscles and isolation techniques to provide strength for your inner stabilising muscles.
I have been teaching Group Fitness classes for almost 10 years now and my absolute favourite classes to teach are Radical Fitness programmes. At Exodus I teach 3 Top Ride classes per week and it’s made a HUGE difference to my fitness. I’d totally recommend Top Ride to anyone that is looking for a workout that will help them get fitness and weight loss results! I love teaching Group Fitness and it’s a big part of my life. For me it’s the most motivating and exciting way to workout.

FREE Fitness Programmes
Make the most of your training and see one of our Fitness Consultants for a FREE fitness programme included with all memberships!
How do I get started? Book yourself at Reception for an initial consultation which takes between 20-30min located upstairs in a private assessment room. We take your measurements, including blood pressure, and find out more about your exercise history and goals! From here, we can book you back in to see us to take you through your personalized programme which can take up to an hour. Please allow at least 2 days for us to write up your programme.
How is this different to a Personal Training session? A Personal Trainer takes you on a 1-on-1 session which may include more technical exercises such as deadlifts, squats, box jumps etc. Working with a PT also means you are able to get instant feedback right away, plus may include help with nutrition and more advanced training including rehab.
Our Fitness Consultants on the other hand take you through your programme to show you the exercises (more suited to beginners) and you follow the routine for 6-8 weeks on your own.
How often can I book in for a programme? We encourage you to book yourself in for a Review to track your progress and to change up your routine every 6-8 weeks. However at any time, if you would like us to show you how to use a piece of equipment, or be shown a new exercise, feel free to grab us on the gym floor (if available) or book in for a quick programme at reception. For more technical exercises we recommend that you contact a Personal Trainer.
Talk to one of our friendly Fitness Consultants to get your Fitness Programme started.
Meet the faces who will be putting you through your paces on your way to greatness. At Exodus Health and Fitness Club, we have a great team of Group Fitness Instructors. Check out their specific skills and who will be running the class you are interested in! Make sure to introduce yourself – they don’t bite.
