I have a dance background so when I joined the gym I fell in love with the Step classes. The combination of choreography with muscle work and cardio was perfect for me! I have only been teaching group fitness for little over a year but I have enjoyed every moment. I am inspired by the participants who keep coming back week after week, who laugh and joke as they workout and how they motivate me to work harder.  I enjoy teaching Group Fitness classes because of the friendly and happy environment they create.

Benefits: Muscular Endurance, Strength

{avatargalleria src=folder path=slider/power height=0.42 theme=classic count=15 quality=medium responsive=true info=false progress=false cr=false fullscreen=false time=7000 thumbnails=false imgpan=false shownav=false/}

Getting fit with Power

Power will help increase your strength and muscular endurance levels of fitness. You will experience a bit of tightness and may be a little sore after your first class. This is your muscles recovering and becoming stronger! As you make more of a routine coming to classes, you will begin to think it’s ‘easy’. That means it’s time to increase the weights so you continue to reap the benefits of the class. It’s important to give at least one days rest between Power classes to get ultimate results.

The benefits of Power

The best benefit of a group fitness class is being in a fun and motivating environment exercising with others towards a common goal! With Power, you will become stronger, leaner and you metabolic rate will increase. This means you will start to burn fat faster even when you’re not exercising! With the added stress on your muscles, your bones will also become more dense and strong.

A usual class consists of

A warm up consisting of all your major muscles groups will get the class started. This is followed by 3 blocks of exercise working the whole body. Each block of exercise is made up of a combination of muscles groups and repeated three times, giving you the chance to add on more weight! Then abdominal conditioning, a cool down and much deserved stretch finish the class off. There are 4 possible Power formats – Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta. Each have their own challenges and this keeps things interesting and muscles constantly developing.

What you need to bring to your class

Make sure you come along in comfortable gym wear that is easy to move in. A sweat towel and waterbottle will also come in handy. All equipment required for the class is here at the gym waiting for you to arrive – steps, barbells, safety clips, plates and dumbells. If you have experience in this style of training you are welcome to also bring along grip gloves – but these are not a necessity.
