Amanda Sommerville

Amanda has come to us from across the ditch (don’t hold it against her too much!) and is a Comprehensive Pilates Instructor, trained through Tania Huddart (PMA) at Hearts and Bones Pilates. Amanda graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance, being awarded a National Diploma in Dance performance as well as achieving her Certificate IV in Performing Arts. During this time she danced with the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company, National tour season of Swan Lake and the Mozart Music Festival NZSD. Pilates played an influential role in her rehabilitation after having overcome a major hip bone injury. This in turn has given her a strong relationship to Pilates and dance.
Throughout her own life experience Amanda has developed a great awareness for injury prevention and rehabilitation and is excited about sharing her knowledge in a caring and charismatic way. Amanda is also currently the head Pilates teacher for the New Zealand School of Dance Scholars Programme.
